And God said...

Pat Robertson says God told him there will be hurricanes that hit the US coast this year. "If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8. Wow, Pat! You're a true profit--um, prophet. If you heard the Lord right? Yeah, the Lord mumbles sometimes. However, He gave me the scoop on lunar eclipses: the Americas will see total eclipses on March 3, 2007; Feb 21, 2008; July 7 & August 10, 2009; July 26 & December 21, 2010. I guess that makes me a prophet too.

OK, so Pat stated the obvious. At least his foot is not in his mouth like it has in the past. I have seen many people be considered deep thinkers because they stated the obvious, and they are honored for it (go figure.) He is joining that group of talking heads. He has to say something so let it be something like this.

We should be thankful that he's not blaming the next hurricanes on gay people, but is admitting that they're acts of God.

I don't have so much of a problem with stating the obvious. Dubya does it all the time, and I don't make an issue of it: "If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." Ahem. The problem is that he's trying to bolster his own credibility by staing the obvious and then crediting his "inside scoop" to a special relationship with the Almighty. Essentially, God is his mole. Therefore we should listen to him.

And Jim, you're right that, thankfully, he's not blaming it on anyone this time.

Jim, don't blame God for the weather.

John, that is how Pat makes his living. People listen, stand in awe of his relationship, and send him money. To me, he is like a million other people who use their position to enhance their standings and become richer off the guy who can't think as clearly.

Amy, you are sounding like Pat.

All, nice photos.

I don't blame God for anything. Pat does.
