JFK -- 41 years, but who's counting?

Today is the 41st anniversary of Kennedy's assassination, and I didn't hear a word about it on the radio. Maybe I just missed it, but it seemes the media has a whole new host of horrors to memorialize, and the Kennedy conspiracy theories are, well, old news. This is the way of things, I suppose. When was the last time you heard a soundbyte commemorating William McKinley or James Garfield?

I heard a little about it on the radio this morning; a passing mention. He is probably more often memorialized because he's still somewhat a modern president. No one remembers (except for you, the History major) what McKinley and Garfield's legacies are. A man-on-the-street interview would prove that many don't even know they were presidents.

Although he was not mentioned by name, I'm sure it was JFK who Peppermint Patty & Franklin were talking about in the Peanuts strip today.

Nora, you're probably right since today's Peanuts is a reprint from Nov 23, 1970, when JFK was still a "current event."

You are right, even on this part of the world they used to mention something about him or show a documentary about him and the conspiracy about his assassin. But you know as the great philosopher 2 PAC said life goes on ......and pepole just forget.
